Brighten up your bus blind
Make a stunning feature of your blind with our unique battery powered LED backlight, created specifically for our framed bus blinds. Our photos really don't do these justice, they look bright, crisp and bold - just as the blinds do on a modern London bus!How we illuminate the blinds
We start with our chunky 40mm frame and fit a smaller 40mm sub-frame behind to accommodate the LED backlight. The blind is cut to fit the frame and then we install our LED lighting and cabling, followed by the MDF backing board.Our 40mm frame with 40mm sub-frame and switch, and a completed Routemaster blind with LED backlight
The lighting is controlled by a discreet rocker switch on top of the sub-frame, keeping the main frame looking as it should. A few things to note...
Bus blinds are usually poorly lit, particularly on older buses, and seen from a distance, so before purchasing a backlit blind please note:- Most of our blinds are made from Tyvek, which shows a slight fibrous pattern through the lettering when lit.
- Many of the blinds have text on the back to aid the driver which can often be seen through the blind when lit, as pictured below.
- Some blinds are too big to illuminate (the batteries won't last long enough) and some feature odd colour combinations that don't display well when lit, so we state on each product page if the blind is available with the LED backlight.
